The FTC is mulling over whether to investigate google over claims that their recent acquisition of ITA Software Inc., an airline ticketing software firm doesn’t breach anti-trust laws. However, they will only investigate if the Justice Department decides whether it will challenge the ITA Software purchase.
Google is purportedly shelling out around $700 million for ITA, which adds them to a long list of other Google acquisitions over the years, this firm bringing the total to 94, according to this wikipedia article.
However the FTC isn’t the only ogranisation investigating Google or looking to, the European commission’s also looking into the search giant’s online dominance. Microsoft also recently filed a complaint with European antitrust regulators due to Google’s search dominance.
