Anyone that’s spent the last twenty + years hunkered over an old copy of Warhammer 40k Space Hulk, can now look forward to doing so on another medium, the digital one; as Space Hulk is coming to the PC, Mac and iOS.
Set to be developed by Full Control, the game is being ported over from its board game routes, in what sounds like quite a faithful representation. The turn based gameplay will remain, as will the gritty feel of the derelict ship that the terminators are fighting their way through. Games Woshop has said that it will maintain the look and feel of the base game, while adding 3D animation.
Game play modes on offer will include a 12 mission single-player and Co-Op campaign, using the Sin of Damnation campaign from the third edition of Space Hulk. There will also be cross platform competitive multiplayer and DLC according to Eurogamer.
“Since playing the board game decades ago I have always wanted to recreate this slice of Warhammer 40,000 as a computer game. Now we can finally bring the board game to life in glorious 3D full of scary Genestealers and mighty Terminators fighting for human kind,” said Full Control CEO, Thomas Hentschel Lund.
Games Workshop’s head of licensing, Jon Gillard said: “Their [Full Control’s] passion for the game and their development skill, combined with the power of the Warhammer 40,000 setting is going to create something very special indeed. There are a lot of people here at Games Workshop who are desperate to get this on their iPads!”
