While the devastation from Hurrican Sandy has left many, many people without power in their homes, Activision also took a hit, with a lot of its multiplayer servers going offline. This has led to Call of Duty and Guitar Hero online games being affected.
“Due to the hurricane that affected the East Coast of the United States, multiplayer gaming with some of our online title is experiencing connectivity issues. We appreciate your patience,” said an Activision statement.
The full list of affected games includes:
- Call of Duty: World at War (all platforms)
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3, PC, Wii)
- Guitar Hero (all titles and platforms)
Activision has responded to concerned fans by saying that it is working on restoring service as soon as possible. However much of New York will not be getting power back for a few days as least and hopefully the priority is getting electricity back to people’s homes.
