Dishonoured PC Specifications Released

Bethesda has released the minimum and recommended specs. lists for Dishonoured, and surprisingly they’re not that hefty.

With its very pretty environments and detailed character animations, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Dishonoured would come with a spec list that would make your eyes water. However in reality, the minimum specs aren’t going to be too far beyond what the average gamer has.

OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: 3.0 GHz dual core or better
Memory: 4 GB system RAM
Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 512 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
Sound: Windows compatible sound card

Hopefully most gamers have skipped over windows Vista by now, but it seems likely that a large majority are making use of 4GB of RAM – and if not, it’s dog cheap these days. The 5850 is still a pretty capable card and can be picked up for not too much on ebay, so again, pretty doable.

Interestingly, the recommended specifications don’t really chance much from the minimum. Usually it provides are far better looking game experience than the base necessities, but the only change is the need for a quad core CPU – ironically with a lower clock speed. This suggests not only good multithreading in Dishonoured, but that it’s a CPU limited game. This will please overclockers, since CPU tweaking tends to be a bit easier than GPU improvements – less costly too.

OS: Windows Vista / Windows 7
Processor: 2.4 GHz quad core or better
Memory: 4 GB system RAM
Hard Disk Space: 9 GB
Video Card: DirectX 9 compatible with 768 MB video RAM or better (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850)
Sound: Windows compatible sound card

Dishonoured is planned for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and most importantly PC in October this year.
