Peter Molyneux’s studio 22 Cans, has released a prototype video from its upcoming game, Godus, showing the basics of what the gameplay will be. In it you see the playtester terraforming the land and assisting the small humans in building their city.
It’s all very basic for now, but you can see the core elements of gameplay being created. It also is clearly inspired by games like Black and White, though the terrain style – with its layered hills – almost looks like a tabletop wargame, which I have to say looks great. However other than that there isn’t a whole lot to see and it makes you wonder if the last £100,000 needed to fully fund the game will be gifted by the generous public or not.
At this point there’s only three days to go until the deadline is reached, letting us know whether the name Molyneux and his promise to bring back classic god sim gaming has been enough to sway the public.
