Glacialtech X-Wing R1
The X-Wing series is Glacialtech’s first venture into the laptop cooling market but the company appears to have more products in the pipeline with names such as the Glacialpad and X-wing Miniseries displayed on their website.The X-Wing series has two slightly different models: the R1 and the R2. Effectively, the only difference between the two models is the touchable front panel – the former has it and the latter does not. However, the real thing that I want to know is can this cooler actually offer some decent cooling? So let’s take a closer look at the R1.
Noctua NF-S12B FLX
Noctua are considered a top brand when it comes to the cooling department. Their unique colour scheme and product naming set them apart from rivalling companies and over time Noctua products have been granted some of the highest accolades out there. The NF-S12 fan was an instant success and further showcased Noctua’s ability in this market. Recently this particular fan has been updated with two new versions: the NF-S12B FLX and ULN. Today, we take a look at the FLX version which features high versatility; one can only hope it is half as good as its predecessor.
Reeven RCCT
CPU Cooling has advanced somewhat in recent years with many different techniques being tried and tested. A relatively new company, Reeven, currently offer two direct heat-pipe CPU Coolers. Today, we’ve been luckily enough to acquire one such cooler, the RCCT-0901S. Let’s see if it performs to the same specification of more well-known CPU Coolers.
Evercool Rifling
The thought of an 80mm fan scares most. Stereotypically they’re regarded as noisy, offer poor airflow and are a waste of space. However, when we suddenly mention 92mm or 120mm fans, our view on these fans becomes rather opposite. So, what about trying to squeeze a 92mm fan blade into a standard 80mm fitting fan? Zalman VF950
To keep up with the latest hotter and faster graphics cards, Zalman have needed to update their VF900 – which we reviewed back in May 2007 – with the VF-950. They haven’t just changed the cooler to support more recent graphic cards though; the new model is entirely different. We hope so too, as we weren’t very impressed with the VF-900.
