Here at XSR we’ve reviewed a lot of fans and talked endlessly about the importance of cooling and so on and so forth. However we seem to have neglected in the most part the role of the fan speed controller. In this age of HTPC, where silence is paramount, a fan speed controller is a very good idea. However can a controller compete with small programs that run in the back ground, a growing number of automatically variated fans or even motherboards that control everything automatically? I plan to find out by testing one such product, the Sentry LX from NZXT.
AMA Serac 770
When it comes to buying a new cooler you can be almost certain that most people will overlook water-cooling as an option. There used to be many reasons for this, such as the mammoth costs of a entry level water-cooling kit and the paranoia that accompanies the knowledge that the system could leak all over your precious rig . But recently the cost of water-cooling has fallen and although some still consider it a risky option, I think the tide is beginning to turn; so to speak. Today I have with me a funky looking kit from a relatively unknown firm, AMA Precision Inc and it's called the Serac 770. Let's check it out.

Sunbeamtech Core Contact Freezer
You can see all manner of designs and technology these days on CPU coolers ranging from the weird and wonderful, to the more conservative and stylish. But it is the technologies behind the cooling that matters the most to any hardware enthusiast. One technology that has offered impressive performance in the past is the HDT design, where the heatpipes actually touch the CPU. This should deliver greater and faster dissipation due to increased contact between the heat transport components, in this case the heatpipes and the core. One product that has this tech and wishes to use it to create some hopefully great results, is the Sunbeamtech Core Contact Freezer. Lets take this one for a spin [...]
Tuniq Miniplant 950w
With the need for a steady and stable supply of power to fuel the most power hungry of PCs nowadays, we are starting to see an increasing number of power supplies with high wattages that claim stability and silence as well. One such product is the Tuniq Miniplant, which boasts an impressive 950W of power and was for a time the highest wattage PSU in the 80+ category of standard PS2 sized units. Today I will be taking this one for a spin to see just how efficient and quiet it really is.
Here at XSReviews we've taken quite an extensive look at NZXT's range of cases, but NZXT have found one we haven't had out mitts on yet. This one's called the Tempest, and it has it's own slogan: “Welcome the airflow king”. NZXT have made some pretty immense cases in the past so lets take this one for a spin and see how it performs and if it deserves its catchphrase.
